Q: How soon should we book?
A: Is it preferred that you book the time you are 5-6 months pregnant. Premium and Natural Newborn sessions book up first about 4 months in advance. However if you haven’t booked please reach out to us, we could possibly still have spots open!
Q: Where are you located?
A: My studio is located in Olathe, Kansas, which is a suburb of Kansas City.
Q: What is required to book?
A: We require a signed portrait agreement and the $150 retainer fee to be paid. The retainer DOES go toward your final balance. 🙂
Q: In studio outside or in home?
A: All sessions are done in studio with the exception of Outdoor Family and Home lifestyle sessions.
Q: Do you work weekends?
A: No, weekends are time with my own family. 🙂 All sessions are done Monday through Friday starting at 9am.
Q: What are the differences between each session?
A: *Swaddle sessions last an hour and a half, have 2-3 set ups and come with 10 digital images via download. Baby will be swaddled for the majority of the session.
*Petite sessions have 4 set ups, 15 digital images via download, and you get a 50% off any one product order.
*Premium Newborn sessions have 5-6 setups, parent and sibling shots, 30 digital images via download and you get a 50% off any one product order.
*Natural Newborn sessions include 25 edited digital images via download, family photos and baby only photos done in studio but in a lifestyle manner and you get 50% off any one product order.
*Home lifestyle sessions are in-home session, 35 digital images via download, captured in a photojournalistic approach no props or posing (only guidance).
Q: What is a set up?
A: A set up is the different background that we will use. Some will have props some won’t. We send out a questionnaire before your session so you will have some say in what we use. However, we LOVE fully styling sessions for you!
Q: When to schedule your session?
A: Please let us know within 48 hours of delivery, we will then schedule your session for the earliest opening we have. We would like to have your session by the time baby is 21 days old. If needed this can be pushed out so please don’t stress about the age.
Q: What about early delivery or NICU stays?
A: If this happens please let us know when baby arrives and keep us up to date on when baby gets to come home. We won’t schedule a session until they’re home, don’t worry about trying to get them here by 21 days old.
Q: What to bring?
A: The main thing is to bring food for baby. We have diapers, wipes, and everything else here at the studio. As far as props we have you covered there as well.
Q: Can I bring Extended family?
A: To keep the number of people in the studio down we ask that only nuclear family members attend the session. Family pictures that are included in the premium session are of the nuclear family only.
Q: How long do sessions take?
A: Depends on the session you pick; Swaddles sessions are 1.5 hours, Natural Newborn sessions are 2 hours, Petite Newborn sessions are 3 hours, Premium Newborn sessions are 4 hours and Home Lifestyle sessions vary.
Q: What to wear?
A: For a premium and natural session we suggest that Moms wear neutral or earth toned color flowy dresses and Dads tighter fitting shirt and nice pair of jeans. If you are not getting parent shots come comfortable (or bring clothes to change into after parent shots) , the studio will get up to 80ish degrees to keep baby warm and cozy.
Q: How do you make the babies sleep?
A: Some don’t sleep and that’s normal and ok! We ask that you feed baby before you leave and keep them awake the morning before the session. Most baby’s will fall asleep on the drive to the studio which is fine! Don’t stress keeping them up during the drive. You might have to feed them again when you get here to get them good a sleepy.
Q: How many pictures are included?
A: Swaddle session – 10, Petite session – 15, Premium session – 30, Natural session – 25 and Home lifestyle session – 40.
Q: What is the proofing gallery?
A: A proofing galley is what you will use to pick the images you want. This will be sent to you shortly after your session with just the first few images fully edited and the rest will have a “soft edit”. Go through and pick your favorites and that’s what images will be edited. Each session has a set number of pictures already paid for, if you would like to get more then that you can! Additional images are $7 per image or $150 (whichever is less) for all of the additional images.
Q: How do I pay my balance?
A: Final balance must be paid the day of your session and can be done with a cash, check or credit card.
Q: How long after my session to get proofing gallery?
A: The proofing gallery is usually delivered with-in 2 business days (Unless otherwise discussed).
Q: How long after proofing are the final images delivered?
A: Final images are typically delivered with-in 2-3 weeks after final selections are made.
Q: Can I purchase prints?
A: Yes you can buy prints, canvases, and albums through us. You will get a price sheet with your final gallery. Processing and shipping to the studio may take 4 weeks. All items will be shipped to the studio for inspection. Due to the customized nature of each product, all sales are final.
Q: Do you ship?
A: Shipping is available for smaller items. We will send an invoice for $20, once products have shipped we will refund you the difference minus a $2 processing fee. Otherwise you can pick your items up at the studio.
